From Vegas to Vallejo

I'm at a point where I'm debating if I should just put playlists and reviews or if I should keep the format for this blog the way it is. But for now, i'll include what I got.

I apologize for not posting anything lately, but its been awhile. I pretty much been preparing for this summer because the next couple months will be pretty eventful. Which includes one trip I'm very excited for, which is Japan. I'm definitely going to update as much as possible when I'm there. So look forward to that.

As a little prequel of whats going to come, I had a couple out of town trips these past couple weekends. Two weekends ago, I headed up to Vegas for a baptism. Yes, a baptism in the city of sin. It was cool because my whole family came out for this event. Which means we took up a large section of the church at the time. Although I only had one night to party that weekend, I still had a fun time. The night I went out I checked out the new club in Luxor called LAX . Mass props to our friend in Las Vegas who hooked us up to get in. Now if you'll don't know, LAX is the new spot to be at. Which means the dance floor is going to be packed like no other. Consider it packed like Pure and Tau are usually like. Now on the positive side, the club is crackin. On the negative side, I personally thought the music wasn't up to par. Now I understand that the dj has to cater to everybody, but I mean there shouldn't be a dance remix for the Red Hot Chili Pepper song Scar Tissue. Now the hip hop they played, it did have its moment. But I didn't notice the only 3 artists in rotation was Timbaland, Lil Jon and Pitbull. Regardless, I had a good time and if your ever in vegas, hit up LAX. I consider it the next spot. Unfortunately, I didn't bring my camera for that weekend, so sorry I don't have any pictures of the night.

Now this past weekend, my brother graduated from Cal Maritime Academy up in Vallejo. Mass props to him because he straight got a Mechanical engineering degree. I wish my brother the best of luck in finding a job with that degree. But enough of the wishes, it was time for him to celebrate. That weekend, I rolled up there with my parents to see this guy walk. Now the drive from my area to Vallejo is about 8 hours. So you know I had to create some playlists. I pretty much listened to everything on that trip. But on the way up there, there were a couple songs that made me feel like I was part of a movie:

Staind- So Far Away
Snow Patrol- Chasing Cars
311- I'll be here awhile
Incubus- Are you in
Shade Sheist- Where I wanna be
The Eagles- Hotel California
Lifehouse- You and Me

Now the first night I was there, I had to visit my homie Poppawinst in his hometown. So my brother and I rolled out to his friends restaurant the Dragon Rouge . If your ever in Alameda, I also recommend to check this place out. This place has a homie feeling and definitely a good place for good eats and drinks. Right next to Dragon Rouge is Planet Crepes, now I especially want to make note of this place because this place has ice cream that is only found on the east coast. They have this one flavor called birthday cake, it was so delicious. So basically that night was just kicking back and having a good time.

Now on the day of graduation, of course you had the usual graduation ceremony. Waiting for a long time just to get a good seat, speeches that take awhile and the passing of diplomas. After the ceremony, my family and I went to Pier 39 to have some dinner, now originally we were suppose to go to Bubba Gump Shrimp, but there was a 2 hour wait just for dinner. So my family settled for the Pier Market. And we do not regret settling for this place, the seafood was just delicious and my whole family enjoyed their plates. So if your ever in Pier 39 in San Francisco I highly recommend that place. After having dinner and walking all the way down from Pier 39 to the Port of San Francisco, I tried to be artistic with my camera. I think a great way to end the night. This morning, straight woke up and drove straight down back to the hometown.

Summertime is here, a new season of shows started airing in Japan. I'll try to review anything to looks good. And of course I'll give you guys some Jams to look forward to, so stay tuned you'll.

Movie to look out for: Planet B-Boy

To all my hip hop heads out there, this movie is for you. A excellent documentary on one of the four elements. The movie is called Planet B-Boy. Now I just watched this movie this past weekend and I loved it. It shows how much heart and soul bboys put into their art, their craft. You can find showings of the movie on its website. And I would suggest checking it out soon because you don't know when it might end.

Here's the trailer
