Welcome to Hollywood

I apologize for the readers who've been looking for anime or playlists entries. I know I skewed from the original purpose of this blog. But once I get my head in the game, everything will fall into place.

Well it was my homie's bday this past weekend. And how do we party, that's right... in style. So we all rolled up to Hollywood and partied it up LA style. Now there is a tradition that I always do when I visit the LA area, and that's to eat at Roscoe's chicken and waffles.

Now I know some people say that fried chicken and waffles are a bad combination. All I have to say is, don't knock it until you try it. And it can't be any regular fried chicken and waffles, it has to be from Roscoe's

So after getting our grub on, we checked in into our hotel room at the Renaissance right next to the Kodak Theater. This place is pretty nice, and thanks to our homie, the room was cheap. Unfortunately, I don't have any pics of the hotel.

So we got decked out, rolled out and had dinner. Please take note that if your in hollywood and your with a group of 15, be sure to have reservations. We were calling around and some places couldn't seat us until late in the evening when we wanted to club. Now prices in LA, very expensive. These ain't your TGI special prices. It's more like $25 for the cheapest chicken dinner type prices. So if you party in LA, bring your money. And bring cash, because dealing with 10 cards for 1 bill is a pain sometimes.

After dinner, we ended up bar hopping along hollywood blvd. If your a tourist and not sure where to go, the mall next to the kodak theater has a number of bars and clubs including "The Highlands." The majority of the night was spent in that mall bouncing from floor to floor and bar to bar. Now, even though they stop serving alcohol at 1:30, the club continues to the break of dawn. The rest of the night became hazy after bar hopping. But one thing I do remember is that the Highlands still charged $20 to get into the club at 2:00 AM.

These are definitely one of those stories that you would have to sit down with me and listen, because there would be a lot of typing.

Did I mention I saw Tera Patrick the next day at the beverly center? Yes I did, and dayam she hot. After partying in LA, eating at Roscoe's, and seeing a porn star. I would say that was a good weekend.

I wish everybody a good week and hope everything falls into place.

Advice of the day

If you scheduled a date with someone, don't flake out on that person. You will hurt that persons feelings and that's not cool at all. Be warned, if you do flake. You might end up getting a grip of messages from the person like the example shown here:

Don't let this happen to you. Remember, they'll understand if you have other priorities.

Have a nice day.

As it turns into 08: Chapter3- 08 Goals

There are so many things I want to do in 08. It's all about self improvement, I don't know if I'm going to achieve everything but the more I achieve the better:

To be able to speak Japanese Fluently

Visit Japan

Work more with Photoshop and Illustrator

Continue Bboying

Get that six pack

Find a new job

Continue to save money

Practice playing either the guitar or the piano

Run at least a 1/2 marathon

Create original designs

Make sure that this blog is worth reading

I really thought that I would make a large list, but at least its a good start.

To all my friends and family, I only wish you guys the best for this year. I know 07 wasn't nothing to cheer about, but with every low, there's a high.

Like a homie told me, DWS- Do Work Son.

As it turns into 08: Chapter2- The Countdown to Midnight

New years Eve there were rumors of a house party going on at my pad. Now I wouldn't mind throwing another party at my pad, but I really felt like it was too short of a notice. So this year me and a couple of my friends ended up partying at the downtown Marriot.

I met up with my homie at Mission Valley, did a little pre drinking and played a little rockband. Now rockband is a really fun game, I recommend playing it a couple times. After the preperations, we walked towards the trolley and ended up in downtown. Before the main event in the ballroom of the Marriot, we partied it up in one of the hotel rooms. Now when you think hotel party, sometimes you think of a single room with two queen beds. Now these rooms are pretty big and look really nice. So this hotel party was banging. A rediculous amount of alcohal, a grip of people and nobody hating. I straight saw security passed by the room with the doors open and a big amount of beer boxes outside and they didn't do a dayam thing about it. I thought that was really tight. At the hotel room, I was able to meet some cool folks, including this one cat who is also interested in the world of the PUA. But unlike me, I actually applied the lessons. This guys just more took in the information. So I told that cat one day were going to go sarging. Aside partying with folks I just met, I ended up running into a whole bunch of folks I haven't seen in ages.

About an hour and a half before midnight we finally decide to roll down to the main party down in the lobby. Now this event was crazy, there was a whole bunch of other people, 3 dj's and bars everywhere. Now when I mean there was a grip of people, I do mean a grip of people. The whole floor was filled with folks. I was able to take a pic behind the dj booth before the countdown:

Once the clock striked midnight, I was happy to be amongst my homies. Because thats what really matters when it comes down to it. A little disappointed that I didn't get a new years kiss, but hey I have all of 2008 to get that.

After the countdown, the big crowd above quickly disappeared. And the rest of the night was pretty much walking around and talking to new and interesting folks. Took a taxi to my homie's pad, had a good nights rest and thus 2008 began.

Time to make 2008 Great!

As it turns into 08: Chapter1- '07 year in review

After having a great 2006, I had high expectations for 2007. In fact I think I had too high of an expectation for 2007 because I really thought 2007 wasn't that great of a year. If I could put a word to 2007, I would have to say it was pretty lackluster.

The reason I say its lackluster is because I didn't go out or partied as much as I expected this year. Thats partially my fault for wanting to save money this year. Also, in an attempt to find a new position, there was no success in 2007. I also realized at one point that I was settling for less, and that was a horrible thing to discover.

Now don't get me wrong, this year didn't totally suck, I still was active, I still went out and hung out with my friends, I attended my first anime expo this year and I went to vegas a couple times.

As for achieving goals and self improvement, I was surprised to achieve the goals that I set back in the beginning of the year. I did get back to learning japanese, i did purchase the list of items I wanted this year, instead of practicing salsa I ended up practicing bboying, and I did save a good amount of money this year. I still was active with the running. As for learning a instrument, I practiced playing the guitar a couple times but that didn't really fly off.

I left 2006 and entered in 2007 with a smile. As I walked through the year the smile stopped and the smile turned into a look of worry. Reality started to set in and the face of worry turned into stress. Towards the end of the year, the stress still remains and the face of determination has been formed. And thats how I'm entering 2008. If I want to make a change this year I have to grab it by its horn with my own bare hands and pull it out. Like John Cena says "The time is NOW!"
