How I feel right now

With all the BS thats been going on. And all the S*** that I've been dealing with. To the luck I just can't catch. To being a product of my environment. To trying to improve who I am. It just makes me want to go on top of my rooftop and just scream my lungs out. Get all this rage out of me, start with a clear head. The picture above totally represents how I feel right now.

Keep a Look out

I'd like to keep people up-to-date and whats coming up these days.

Today I have a couple things to mention.

The first is Marie Digby. Now this girl is hella cute and she just has this singing voice that gets you. Her cover of umbrella was played on Star 98.7 and she performed on the Last Call w/ Carson Daily. Once I tune up my piano and start writing again, I would like to meet her.

You can tell she's working with a mac when she's adjusting the volume on her computer.

Now I haven't been watching that much TV lately. But while hanging out with my family, I was able to catch a marathon of Making the Band 4. The people on the show has skills no doubt. But what really caught me was the theme song to the show. It's not that often I hear a song for the first time and go, "what is that song?"

*Disclaimer, I don't own any of these videos. This is all just for promotional use.

Stipper Playlist

So my homie is getting married this Saturday. Mass props to him. And of course with a wedding, there is a bachelor party. Now the last bachelor party I was at, the strippers brought their own music. Something that I thought would happen this time. But my homie said just in case, I should make a playlist. Equipped with only a laptop, I had to make due with what I had. Now basically any song really can be a stripper song. As long as its not depressing or emo and it has a good beat, it can be a good song. I mean I've seen strippers dance to Linkin Park- One Step Closer. But with what I remember, here's a playlist to play when strippers are around

Christina Aguilara- Dirty f/Redman
Ciara- Goodies f/ Petey Pablo
Nelly- Hot in Herre
The game- How we do f/50 cent
Akon- I wanna Fuck you f/Snoop Dogg
Mr. Cheeks- Lights, Camera, Action Remix ft. Missy Eliiot and Diddy
Destiny's Child- Lose my Breath
N.E.R.D.- Lapdance
Notorious B.I.G.- Nasty Girl
Beyonce- Naughty Girl
Jay-Z - Poppin Tags
Joe- Ride Wit U
Nelly & Diddy- Shake your tailfeather
Akon- Smack That
E-40- U and Dat
Jim Jones- We Fly High Remix
Ludacris- What's your Fantasy Remix

Considering that strippers dance per song, long songs are good songs. Just some food for thought. Well if ever you need music for strippers. The list above is just a recommendation. Enjoy.

Inspiration

These guys are my inspiration to keep going to the gym and get that six back and the body I wanted.  My goal is to do at least a portion of what these guys can do.  Especially the elbow spin.

Thought Process with Music

So your probably wondering, what goes through my head when I listen to music.  There are a couple factors that go into finding music.

The first thing I consider is the "Ohhhhhh" factor.  Meaning once that song starts, you hear everybody go OHHHHHHH or "That's my jam" or "Turn it up, that's my song.  When I'm compiling playlists.  This is the first thing I really look for.  You can't just have a five song playlist with 3 tight songs and 2 duds.  You got to find 5 hits in a row.

Lyrics are very important.  If I'm listening to a song and I hear a very original lyric, that just automatically grasps me.  For example, I was listening to a song by Black star and Talib says "Trying to compete with reality like Xerox," it's a lyric that makes you think about it.  After that I would think, dayam thats a good song.

Feeling the beat.  Sometimes lyrics can be crap, but the beat can make the song decent.  Especially if your just looking for cruising music where you don't really want to think as much.  The beat is very important.  Like when you listen to Camp Lo's Luchini.  I have no clue what their saying, but the beat to the song just brings it up.

Does it convey emotion.  I listen to hip hop to enhance my vocabulary, I listen to rock to get me pumped up, I listen to slow jams and R&B if I'm feeling  someone.  If a song can convey an emotion from me, then I'll get it.

And sometimes there's just some music where I want to listen to it and just get lost.  Symphonies, techno music, and certain songs give me that feeling.

Now I believe that music is a powerful force.  That's why I'm deep into research on the next upcoming song, or the classic jam.  At parties, people usually ask me if I brought my ipod cause I guess I got the list.  It's come to a point where I bring my ipod everywhere with cables if necessary.  And I have to say, its pretty dayam cool.  I don't know if people are just lazy making a list for themselves, or their tastes are just bland.  But I certainly get the ohhhhh factor going at parties.

And if I don't have my ipod, I make do with what I have.  I mean there are times where they give me a laptop and speakers and they tell me to work my magic.

To give you an example of how serious I am with my music, here's how many songs I have in my playlists:

Hip Hop: 449
R&B: 291
Rock: 149
Slow Jams: 162

And that's just 4 playlists.

I'll post some list ideas on this blog sooner or later.  So just stay tuned.
